Zeccer was a project created mostly for students. It involved making available over 50 printers for people to use and developing an app that would make it possible to print documents directly from their phones.
Over time the app evolved but the iOS version wasn’t developed, which left the users of this platform without access to all of the available features. Our main goal was to change that.
The biggest challenge was to update the existing code which was written in Objective C, while remaining the apps compatibility with its older versions. We decided to use Swift as it has a simple syntax and gives a great backwards compatibility.
Currently the iPhone users can benefit from the same features as the ones that are available on the Android platform. Thanks to integrating the app with Facebook, updating the log in process and making it possible to upload files via phone, the users can now navigate the app with more ease and print their documents faster. The features, that we programmed made the application intuitive and user-friendly.
Our second goal revolved around Zeccer’s campaigns, that they cobranded with such companies like: KFC, Mobile Vikings and Ernst & Young. We added new screens that, on one hand, would inform the users about ongoing discounts, and on the other, would give the brands a great communication channel to interact with the students.
